Find waste before you make platform changes
Most crawl budget issues come from avoidable URL sprawl and weak signals, not from needing exotic technical fixes. Start by identifying parameter URLs, thin archives, duplicate variants, and disconnected content pockets.
Make high-value pages easier to discover
Important articles should appear in hubs, sitemaps, category routes, and cross-links from related posts. If search bots have to work too hard to reach valuable content, they may spend time elsewhere instead.
Treat crawl hygiene as a maintenance loop
New content systems generate new edge cases. Review crawl patterns regularly so pagination, filters, and archived content do not quietly erode efficiency.
